PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT FOR FOREIGN ENTRANTS
Kharkiv Professional College of Technologies and Design
Preparatory department for foreign entrants is a structural subsection of Kharkiv Professional College of Technologies and Design that operates in accordance with Ukrainian legislation. The activity of the department is regulated by article 30 of the law of Ukraine about “The Higher education”, license LV №000032 from 06. 10. 2016.
The College carries out training of foreign entrants for their further entrance to Higher Educational Institutions on the ground of basic or complete secondary education. The training of foreign entrants is conducted according to basic accredited specialities.
In our college are conducted preparatory courses for foreign entrants and persons without nationality. The tuition fee is 850$.
Teaching and educational process is conducted according to national educational standards approved by Ministry of Education.
Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the preparatory department for foreign entrants must first obtain a student visa to study in Ukraine. The teaching is conducted in Russian or Ukrainian, (at request). Training term ‒ 10 months.
After training and examination, the entrant receives the certificate. This certificate allows the entrant to enter the Higher Educational Establishment “Kharkiv College of Textile and Design” or any other Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine.
If the foreigner does not master language up to standard and fails examination, he has the right not to continue training next year.
The graduates of other preparatory faculties who have certificates of other Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine are accepted in college on a vacant position by results of an oral examination.

How to receive the invitation for training:
To receive the invitation letter on training, it is necessary to send the following documents and data to selection committee of “Kharkiv College of Textile and Design”:
1) an application;
2) a written permission for processing of personal data;
3) a photocopy of the first two pages of your passport;
4) a surname, a name (according to writing in the national passport);
5) date of birth;
6) passport number;
7) place of residence (translated into Ukrainian);
8) a legalized copy of secondary school completion certificate with the list of
subjects and grades (translated into Ukrainian);

The educational institution defines need of the translation of documents into Ukrainian, and also a possibility of carrying out interview online.
How to receive the entry visa.
The educational institution sends the original form of invitation, registered in the electronic database to the foreigner or his authorized representative for ensuring entry into Ukraine.
For obtaining the entry visa for the purpose of training in Ukraine the entrant needs to address to Embassy of Ukraine in native or neighboring country with the application for obtaining the entry visa, having enclosed the invitation of college.
After receipt of a visa on the training “D” the entrant informs college by phone or an e-mail on date of arrival in the city of Kharkiv and number of flight. The representatives of college will meet him and will lodge in the hostel.
The invitation can be cancelled, if the invitation was already issued to this person by other educational institution and is registered in electronic base. Period of validity of the invitation no more than 6 months from the date of its delivery.
How to undergo customs control.
On arrival in city airport of Kharkiv for passing of customs control the foreigner has to have at himself: the passport with the visa “D”, the original of the invitation to study, some sum of money on the cash card or cash in US dollars for solvency confirmation. If at least one of the above points is not executed, it will be refused entrance on the territory of Ukraine.
On arrival on training foreigners have to provide to selection committee of college the following documents:
1) an application form addressed to the head of college;
2) translations of the first page of the passport (surname, name) into Ukrainian (notarized in Ukraine).
3) a photocopy of certificate of education with the list of disciplines and marks translated into Ukrainian (notarized in Ukraine).
4) HIV certificate issued not later than in 2 months prior to entry into Ukraine.
5) the medical certificate on the state of health certified by body of health care of the country from which arrived the foreigner, and given out not later than in 2 months prior to entry into Ukraine (For the CIS countries a form 086-O).
6) a photocopy of birth certificate translated into Ukrainian (notarized in Ukraine).
7) 12 coloured photographs (3.5×4.5 cm)
8) a return ticket.
After enrollment, foreigners need to provide the following documents:
1) to sign the contract for providing educational service.
2) to pay for tuition and prolong the term of stay in Ukraine.
3) to receive the health insurance.
4) to sign the contract about voluntary insurance of responsibility for reimbursement, connected with exclusion from the territory of Ukraine.
5) Extension of term of stay in Ukraine is carried out in bodies of the public migratory service on the basis of the application of the foreign student and the petition of college for obtaining the certificate for temporary residence in Ukraine.
6) The return ticket can be replaced with the contract about voluntary insurance of responsibility for reimbursement, connected with exclusion from the territory of Ukraine.
Students of our college are provided with the hostel. Educational process begins on September 1, depending on formation of groups and it lasts the whole year.
